What do people think about Ship Skis

Ship Skis appears to offer a convenient and generally reliable service, based on a composite review of recent customer experiences. Customers have praised the convenience of having skis delivered and picked up directly from their hotel or destination, thereby mitigating the hassles of transporting bulky equipment through airports and other travel infrastructures. The ease of the system and the additional benefit of knowing their gear will be waiting upon arrival have been repeatedly appreciated. This sentiment is underscored by one customer who mentioned the ease with which they traveled from Pennsylvania to California by shipping their equipment ahead.

However, the company's handling of international shipping requirements has been noted as a point of contention, with one customer facing unexpected restrictions on the contents of their shipment from Colorado to New Zealand. This indicates that the company's communication regarding international policies may need improvement to ensure customers are fully informed before committing to the service. Moreover, the cost, an ever-important factor in service evaluation, received mixed reviews; some customers found the service reasonably priced, while others considered it expensive despite its conveniences. Customer service experiences were largely positive, with reports of proactive and helpful staff interactions, especially in situations where logistical challenges arose, such as delayed pickups or special pick-up locations like college dorms. The occurrence of a hiccup in the return process, successfully resolved by the customer service team, suggests a high level of support for users of the service.

Fairly rapid reply from email help when had question, very fast delivery. Expensive to ship, but convenient as we delivered/return shipped right to/from the hotel ski valet. Have tried other companies in the past (LUGLESS) and was a disaster. Would use SHIPSKIS again.

Great system and skis arrived in NZ safely and quickly. Be aware that international has different rules than advertised on the website. We were shipping from Colorado to New Zealand. We only found out after paying that we couldn't put the rest of our winter gear in the ski bag. Even ski jacket and pants were 'forbidden'. By Ship skis, not New Zealand. This was later partially resolved, allowing us 5 extra items, (very arbitrary) but we are still travelling around Mexico with a pile of winter clothes and shoes etc that we expected to ship back. This has both messed with our plans and made the economics of shipping less viable.

Works well! Only positive things to say about Skip Skis. It’s a pleasure to travel hassle free and be guaranteed that your skis will wait for you at destination every time. Very reasonably priced. Skis always arrived way ahead of estimates. Great customer service also: Last time I used them two weeks ago, for the first time FedEx didn’t pick up the skis from my hotel on the indicated pick-up date. Their system automatically flagged that and someone at Skip Skis proactively called me and FedEx to see what happened. My skis arrived back home before the guaranteed return date nonetheless!

They mention receiving prompt replies from email support, helpful guidance for first-time users, and proactive assistance from the company in the event of a logistical hiccup, such as a missed pickup by the delivery service.

Can I include additional winter gear in my ski bag when shipping internationally with Ship Skis?

According to feedback from customers, while shipping domestically may allow for more flexibility, international shipments have more stringent guidelines. For example, one reviewer noted that they were not allowed to include their ski jacket and pants in their ski bag when shipping from the United States to New Zealand. However, after discussion with Ship Skis, they were permitted to add a limited number of extra items; therefore, it is advisable to check with Ship Skis for specific international shipping rules before sending your items.

About Ship Skis

Ship Skis is a service-oriented company that specializes in the shipping of winter sports equipment to a wide array of international destinations. Established in Florida in 2014, the organization aims to alleviate the logistical burdens associated with traveling with skis, snowboards, and luggage for recreational as well as professional enthusiasts. By offering an alternative to the traditional methods of transporting such bulky gear, which includes navigating through airports and potentially renting equipment, Ship Skis ensures that travelers have their own gear waiting for them upon arrival. The company has forged partnerships with various ski-related facilities, such as resorts and lodges, augmenting the travel experience for their shared clientele.

The logistics of shipping is managed through collaborations with major carriers like FedEx, UPS, and DHL, ensuring the safe and timely delivery of the winter sports equipment. Ship Skis emphasizes affordability, often presenting a cost-saving option compared to standard airliner baggage fees. Furthermore, they provide a baseline of $500 insurance for every shipment with the possibility of extending coverage up to $3,500. The standout features of their service are punctuality and customer care, backed by an on-time delivery guarantee. Complementing Ship Skis is its sibling company, Ship Sticks, which offers similar services for golf clubs, thereby broadening their market reach. Both companies have captured media attention, recognized by reputable outlets such as Forbes and CNBC for their innovative approach to sports equipment logistics.
